Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 24, 2026

1. About this policy

DIY Mower ("we", "us", or "the app") helps you diagnose riding lawn mower problems from a description, photo, or video and find the replacement parts you need. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the app, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

  • Content you submit. Text descriptions, photos, and videos you upload to diagnose a mower problem. This content is sent to our AI diagnosis service to produce a result for you.
  • Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address and the mower and maintenance records you choose to save.
  • Usage data. Approximate device and browser information, pages viewed, and interactions that help us improve the app.
  • Location (optional). Only when you choose to find local parts stores or mechanics; we use your approximate location for that search and do not store it.

3. How we use information

  • To generate and display mower diagnoses and part suggestions.
  • To maintain your saved mower and maintenance records.
  • To show relevant repair-part listings and advertisements.
  • To respond to support requests and improve the service.

4. Third-party services

We use third-party services that may set their own cookies or collect data under their own policies:

  • Google AdSense displays ads. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Third-party vendors and Google's use of advertising cookies enables you and your users to opt out of personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. For Google's full policy, visit policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
  • Amazon Associates. Part links may be affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate we may earn from qualifying purchases.
  • Map providers are used only when you search for nearby stores or mechanics.

5. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, remembering your preferences, and serving ads. Advertising partners may use cookies to personalize ads and measure performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may limit some features.

6. Data storage and security

Your account data is stored securely with our backend provider. Diagnosed content is processed to generate results and retained only as needed to operate the service. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is fully secure.

7. Your choices

  • You can delete your account and saved mower records at any time.
  • You can opt out of personalized ads through Google's Ads Settings page and aboutads.info/choices.
  • You can disable cookies in your browser, though some site features may not work as expected.

8. Children's privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can delete it.
